Melvin Ballard Memorial Tournament

The Melvin Ballard Memorial Tournament is a one-day, two-person best ball tournament limited to 36 teams. This tournament is held each year to honor the memory of Melvin Ballard, an outstanding local player and avid golfer, who was killed in action near Saigon, Vietnam in 1968. Open to ages 16 and older. Pre-registration is required; no late entries will be accepted. Carts are included with the team registration.

Sassy Classic Tournament

The Sassy Classic is a one day Bingo, Bango, Bongo 18 - hole golf tournament. This event benefits the Ingersoll Golf Course Fund. Open to ages 16 and older.

Mixed Doubles Tournament

Sinnissippi Golf Course

The Mixed Doubles Golf Tournament is open to all amateur golfers age 16 and older. Teams must be comprised of one female and one male golfer. The tournament will be a 9-hole Chapman system of alternate shots.  Both players will tee off; the team will alternate the second shot; the team must choose the ball they will play until the ball is holed out. Entry is limited to the first 25 teams. No guarantees for preferred pairings. Scratch and handicap prizes will be awarded. Carts are included with the team registration.

The McWilliams/Johnson Open

The McWilliams/Johnson Open is a two-person scramble format tournament. Pairings must include two participants of any age. The tournament is open to both youth and adults; all golfers are welcome (including professional golfers). Entry is limited to the first 72 teams. No guarantees for preferred tee times or pairings. Top three teams and other prizes will be awarded. Eighteen-hole round, cart, and lunch are included in the fee. This event benefits the Lloyd and Barb McWilliams Fund.

This tournament will be held annually in memory of former Rockford Park District team members Lloyd McWilliams and Mike Johnson, who were inducted into the Rockford Area Golf Hall of Fame, and shared their passion for the game with junior and adaptive golfers by teaching over many decades in the Rockford area.

Aldeen Cup

July 18-19, 2026
Aldeen Golf Club

Two-day amateur golf tournament open to all amateur golfers 16 years of age and older with a verified U.S.G.A. index of 10.7 or less. A women's division is available to all female golfers 16 and over. A senior division is available for golfers 50 and over. All ages are as of July 18, 2026. Carts will be available for players to rent.
